The Hot Rats were formed by Doug Hudson in 1992 to back him in a one man show at the Brook Theatre in Chatham, Kent. Since then they have become a band in their own right recording five albums and playing at festivals and other venues in the UK, France, Belgium, Spain and Australia.
Ian toured extensively in the 70s and 80s with the renowned Bully Wee Band and also appeared and played the music for the classic 1973 horror film The Wicker Man .
As well as The Hot Rats, he now tours once a year with the re-formed Bully Wee Band, Feast of Fiddles and also works occasionally with Dave Cousins of The Strawbs.
Before
forming the band for his One Man Show, Doug performed on the London
Comedy Circuit and in the Gulf, Africa and the
Far East. During the 70s and 80s he was half of the acclaimed folk duo,
Tundra. He is also the well known PA announcer for Gillingham
Football Club and still performs his One Man
Show at festivals and other venues.
